Facing the Fear: A Manifestor’s Journey into Authentic Expression

Life has a funny way of throwing fear at us just when we’re about to do something big. We wake up, ready to take the next step, and suddenly, there it is—that gnawing doubt, that wave of uncertainty, that sneaky little voice whispering, What if you fail?

I know this feeling intimately because I woke up with it today.

Despite an incredible meeting with my podcast mentor yesterday—one that should have left me feeling unstoppable—I found myself frozen. The fear was loud, relentless, and all-consuming. It wasn’t a rational fear tied to an actual threat. No, this was the deep, old kind of fear. The kind that sneaks in when you’re on the verge of something transformative.

But here’s the Truth I’ve come to realize: Fear is not a stop sign. It’s a doorway. And today, I want to walk through it with you.

Waking Up to Fear

Let me paint a picture of my morning.

I woke up, and before I could even stretch, the mind started firing off doubts:

• What if I can’t do this?

• What if no one listens?

• What if I fail?

The fear felt so real that, if I had the financial cushion to do so, I might have walked away right then and there. That’s how paralyzing it was. And I know I’m not alone in this—because anyone stepping into something new, something deeply personal, has felt this same resistance.

Even after a call filled with encouragement and support, my mind was telling me, You need a script. You need to be perfect. You’ll ramble. You’ll mess up. The stories spiraled. But I caught them. Because that’s the work—to see the stories for what they are: not Truth, just noise.

Understanding My Fear: Vata, Manifestors, and the Spiral

If you’ve been following my work, you know that Ayurveda and Human Design are central to what I teach. And as a Vata-dominant Manifestor, my energy can be wildly creative, but also wildly erratic when fear enters the picture.

• Vata energy is airy, light, and intuitive—but when out of balance, it leads to overthinking, anxiety, and scatteredness.

• Manifestors are designed to initiate, to start new things, to pave the way. But we’re not designed to sustain; we’re here to create, inform, and let others carry the torch.

When you mix an out-of-balance Vata energy with the pressure of a Manifestor trying to “get it right,” you get a fear spiral that feels almost impossible to stop.

But I have tools. And today, I used them.

Moving Through Fear

Instead of running from the fear or pretending it wasn’t there, I did what I teach my clients: I sat with it.

Step 1: Feel It Fully

I named the fear out loud:

• “I’m afraid I’ll fail.”

• “I’m afraid I’ll forget what to say.”

• “I’m afraid I’ll sound boring.”

The moment you name a fear, it loses some of its power. Because now, it’s not just a looming shadow—it’s something you can work with.

Step 2: Breathe Into It

I took long, deep breaths and allowed myself to feel the physical sensations of fear in my body. No running, no pushing it away—just witnessing it.

Step 3: Release It with Compassion

I reminded myself: This fear is okay. It doesn’t mean I shouldn’t move forward. It just means I’m stepping into something new.

And suddenly, the fear wasn’t a wall anymore. It was a wave. A wave that I could ride.

Grounding Back into My Power

Once I processed the fear, I turned to my go-to grounding practices:

• Grounding Foods: I made a warm, nourishing breakfast—sweet potatoes with lentil soup, avocado, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds and nutritional yeast. These foods are dense, grounding, and perfect for stabilizing Vata energy.

• Kundalini Yoga: A gentle breathwork and movement practice helped move the stuck energy through my body.

• Soundboarding: I voiced my fears and my vision for this podcast. I reminded myself of why I started this in the first place.

Each of these tools brought me back to my center, reminding me that I don’t need to be perfect. I just need to show up.

Redefining Success: Done is Better Than Perfect

One of the biggest lessons I’m learning in this process is that success isn’t about perfection—it’s about connection.

Adam, my podcast mentor, reminded me yesterday that people will connect with my energy, not my scripts. He encouraged me to drop the need for perfection (one of my favorite shadow qualities) and just show up as myself—fun, fierce, and unfuckwithable.

And that’s what I want to leave you with today.

Whatever you’re stepping into—whether it’s launching a business, starting a podcast, or making a major life change—remember this: People don’t want perfect. They want real. They want YOU.

Fear will show up. It always does when we’re on the verge of something powerful. But fear isn’t a stop sign—it’s a sign you’re growing.

Your Turn:

When fear shows up, what’s your instinctive response?  Do you freeze, flight, fawn or flee?

Do you try to push it away, overanalyze it, or take action despite it?

Maybe you have your own grounding practices - breathwork, movement, journaling, or even blasting your favorite song to shift your energy.

I’d love to hear from you. How do you move through fear and take that next step forward?

Closing Reflection

So, if you’re feeling that heavy doubt, that morning fear, that nagging What if I fail?—pause. Breathe. Feel it. And then take one step forward anyway.

You’re fun.

You’re fierce.

You’re unfuckwithable.

And the world is waiting for what only you can bring.

Final Takeaways

• Fear is not a stop sign—it’s a doorway.

• Grounding practices (breathwork, food, movement) help stabilize swirling energy.

• Done is better than perfect—people connect with your truth, not your script.

• You already are and have everything you need to move forward. Just take the first step.
